Staycation Pet Care started with a simple belief: when you leave your pets behind, you should feel completely confident about the person caring for them—and your pets should feel safe, loved, and understood.

Animals have been part of my story for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest pet-sitting memories is spending a weekend caring for a mama dog and her puppies, and that love for animals never really let go. Over the years, I pet-sat for family and friends, volunteered with Pawsitive Partners here in North Platte, and somehow once ended up with 11 dogs at my house for a summer. I lovingly refer to that chapter as “Keeping Up with the Canines.” It was complete chaos—and I loved every minute of it.

Eventually, what had always been something I loved became something much bigger.

I left my career in criminal justice to give Staycation my full attention and built a pet care business centered around relationships—not just reservations. I get to know the dogs who need an extra minute to trust me, the seniors who move a little slower, the pets with special routines, and the families who just need to know someone is loving their animals while they're away.

Staycation began with in-home pet sitting, and that will always be an important part of what we do. But along the way, I realized there was room in North Platte for another option, too.

So I created one.

Our new dog boarding location at 515 S. Jeffers was designed around the same philosophy I've had from the beginning: personal care, fewer dogs, lots of attention, and knowing the animal in front of me. It isn't about fitting every dog into the same routine. It's about giving them a place where they can settle in, be themselves, and have their own Staycation while their people are away.

Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or welcoming your dog through our doors, they're never just another pet on the schedule.

They're somebody's family.

And I never forget that.
